Ajax midfielder Kenneth Taylor seals Lazio move

The Rome-based club agreed a deal worth fifteen million euros, with a further two million euros in potential add-ons, to bring the Dutch international to Italy. Taylor signed a long-term contract that will keep him at Lazio until June 30, 2030.

A product of Ajax's famous academy, Taylor had spent his entire professional career in Amsterdam before making the move. This season, he made 19 appearances for Ajax in all competitions, scoring two goals and providing four assists, while remaining a key figure in midfield.

Speaking after the announcement, Taylor made it clear he was excited by the challenge ahead. "Lazio is a really big club," he said. "I want to bring my experience from Ajax here and help the team win trophies. There is pressure when you play for a club like this, but we can handle that and go into every game aiming to win."

He also praised his new surroundings, adding: "Serie A is one of the best leagues in the world and it made a very good impression on me."

Ajax director of football Marijn Beuker paid tribute to Taylor's journey. "Kenneth is a true Ajacied and an example for our young players," he said. "He felt it was the right moment to take the next step in his career, and we wish him every success in Italy."

Lazio president Claudio Lotito confirmed the club's plans, saying: "We will sign Taylor from Ajax. Guendouzi goes, Taylor comes in. The signing is a done deal."

Taylor now faces the task of quickly adapting as Lazio push forward in domestic and European competition.
