Man Utd defender Matthijs de Ligt eyes March comeback from injury
Matthijs de Ligt is closing in on a return for Manchester United after another frustrating setback in an injury-hit season.

Saka had not initially been expected to start the tie, but he was drafted into the line-up late. Rather than moving him into his usual wide position in place of Noni Madueke, Arteta kept Madueke on the flank and deployed Saka in midfield. The decision raised eyebrows before kick-off, yet it proved a smart tactical adjustment as Arsenal progressed comfortably to the next round.
Operating centrally, Saka looked composed and influential. He found pockets of space, linked play effectively and carried a consistent attacking threat. His movement closer to goal caused Wigan problems throughout, underlining his intelligence and technical quality.
Speaking afterwards, Arteta admitted the positional switch was deliberate and could become a recurring option.
"That's something that's a possibility. I wanted to try it, and we might use it in the future," Arteta told Arsenal Media. "There are still so many games, competitions and different scenarios to play in this season, and that's a possibility that we have.
"He's more central, he's closer to the goal. It's a bit more difficult for the opponent to get his reference constantly. He can interchange positions with a wide player as well, and he's so good at picking those spaces. When he's there, he can really hurt you with the ball."
Arsenal's convincing victory keeps them firmly on course in a competition they have historically dominated. With the club competing on multiple fronts this season, Saka's versatility could prove vital.
His display against Wigan reinforced why he remains one of Arteta's most trusted players. Whether on the wing or in midfield, Saka continues to deliver - and Arteta now has another tactical weapon at his disposal as the campaign intensifies.
