AS Roma accelerate efforts to secure Zeki Celik's future amid Serie A rival interest

Celik's existing agreement with Roma expires on June 30, 2026.

Once viewed as a rotational squad member, the 28-year-old has emerged as a cornerstone under head coach Gian Piero Gasperini, showcasing his adaptability across roles, from right-back in a back three to defensive midfield, while contributing offensively with a goal in Roma's recent 2-0 Serie A win over Udinese.

Roma's Sporting Director, Frederic Massara, is spearheading the push for a new deal with Celik's representatives, per recent reports, aiming to preempt any summer impasse.

On the financial front, Celik's current salary of approximately 1.7 million euros net per season, plus bonuses that can push it to 2-million euros, aligns comfortably with Roma's wage structure.

Interest isn't limited to the capital, however. Juventus have initiated preliminary discussions with Celik's camp, positioning him as a prime free-agent target for next summer to bolster their defensive options.

Galatasaray, meanwhile, have rekindled their pursuit, with reports suggesting a potential January 2026 loan move incorporating a buy option valued between 2.5-3.5 million euros.

Celik's elevated performances at both club and international level have only heightened his appeal. Just last month, on October 12, he netted his first international goal for Turkey in a 2026 World Cup qualifier, capping 56 caps and three strikes overall, while remaining a reliable fixture in Gasperini's setup.

With renewal discussions gaining momentum, Roma are resolute in securing Celik's long-term commitment and thwarting opportunistic bids for a cut-price exit.
