Morocco and Algeria make winning starts in WAFCON Group A
Hosts Morocco and Algeria opened their 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations campaigns with impressive victories on Sunday to take early control of Group A.

The draw for the qualifying groups of the competition being held in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania took place in Egypt on Tuesday afternoon.
The upcoming AFCON qualifiers feature 48 teams, with four teams across 12 groups, with 24 teams progressing to the finals.
