Bayern Munich captain Manuel Neuer admits injured Jamal Musiala's influence is 'missed'

The twenty-two-year-old attacker has been edging into fuller sessions, and teammates have said they are eager to see him restored to the heart of their play.

Captain Manuel Neuer admitted the squad have missed Musiala's influence. "We are very much looking forward to having him back," Neuer said in an interview with Bundesliga.com. "He has been at the side of training a lot. He does not want to hide away and do his rehab alone. He wants to be around the group.

"As a captain you notice this, and he is very keen to return to full team training. It is the same with Alphonso Davies. He has been reintegrated and both of them should be back with us in the coming days and weeks. The key is that they stay fit and everything goes well."

Bayern have followed a cautious plan since Musiala's setback, with Vincent Kompany and the medical staff determined not to rush him. The club have targeted late December 2025 for his first competitive minutes, with a full return to top-level sharpness hoped for early in 2026.

Kompany has said internally that the approach must be "step by step", reflecting how vital Musiala is to their structure.
