Bayern prepare for Celtic battle as Raphael Guerreiro sounds warning

Meanwhile, Werder Bremen striker Oliver Burke has warned the German champions of the intensity they can expect against the Scottish side.

Despite being favourites to progress, Guerreiro has stressed that Bayern must approach the tie with full focus. Speaking to the Daily Record, the Portuguese full-back made it clear that the Bavarian side will not take anything for granted.

"This squad believes we can reach the quarter-finals at least, but we have to deal with this phase first," said Guerreiro.

"Celtic have a strong squad and the same ambition as us, they want to win. It won't be easy, but we are ready for these two matches.

"People see us as favourites, and that is normal, but in reality, it is a 50-50 tie," he added.

Guerreiro also pointed to the significance of playing the second leg at the Allianz Arena, while acknowledging the challenge posed by Celtic Park's renowned atmosphere.

"History and statistics won't decide this, football is unpredictable. Playing the second match in Munich is an advantage, but we need a good result in Glasgow.

"A Scottish opponent is always tough, and the atmosphere at Celtic Park is incredible. But for us, that makes it even more exciting," he said.

Bayern come into the fixture off the back of a 3-0 win over Werder Bremen, where former Celtic loanee and current Bremen forward Oliver Burke highlighted the challenge awaiting the German giants.

"Celtic will be a huge test for Bayern," said Burke. "They will give absolutely everything and fight for every ball.

"I think Scottish and German fans have similar football cultures. The Scots were so popular in Germany during the Euros for a reason – both sets of supporters are passionate, a bit crazy, and they love their beer," he joked.

Bayern travel to Glasgow for the first leg before hosting Celtic in Munich, with both sides battling for a spot in the last 16 of the Champions League.
