Usuthu seal convincing home victory against Siwelele

Amazulu remain unbeaten in this season's Betway Premiership campaign after a beating Siwelele FC 2-0 at Kings Park Stadium on Saturday.

It was a second victory for Usuthu in three league outings to go with a solitary draw, while the visitors slumped to their second defeat and are yet to taste a win this season.

Mlondi Mbanjwa gave Amazulu the lead after 20 minutes, finishing neatly after latching onto a pass from Thandolwenkosi Ngwenya.

The hosts doubled their advantage just after the half hour mark when Ngwenya this time found the back of the net for his fifth goal in only four matches.

Siwelele tried to open up in the second half but to no avail as Usuthu comfortably saw out the contest to claim maximum points in the home clash.

First-half blitz gives Sekhukhune win over Polokwane City

Sekhukhune did all the running and scored both goals in the first half for a 2-0 victory over Polokwane City at Seshego Stadium.

The opening goal of the encounter came as early as the eighth minute when Givemore Khupe played a superb through ball into the path of Mokoena Mokoena, who applied the finish.

The hosts were playing some champagne football and doubled their advantage after 20 minutes when D'Angelo Kazeem found space on the left and crossed for Ngoanamelo Rammala, who buried his effort.

Sekhukhune could have added to their tally but were wasteful in the final third as Polokwane offered very little going forward.

It was a second win in three league matches this season for Cedric Kaze's charges while Rise and Shine slumped to their first loss after a victory and a draw in their previous two games.

Durban City rescue point against Richards Bay

Durban City fought back to claim a share of the spoils against Richards Bay in their KwaZulu-Natal derby at Chatsworth Stadium on Saturday night.

The result extended City's run of consecutive derby draws, although their attacking struggles continued after two league games without a goal.

Gaston Sirino was influential early on, hitting the crossbar and creating chances, but Jean Lubumba and Tashreeq Morris failed to convert. Richards Bay then capitalised on a defensive error, with Aqaba Xulu weaving through the defence before finding the roof of the net.

City improved after the interval but struggled to retain possession and wasted several set-piece opportunities.

Mabena seals dramatic comeback as 10-man Milford beat Kruger

Milford FC produced a remarkable comeback to beat Kruger United 2-1 at Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium on Saturday.

The hosts were reduced to 10 men when Menzi Chili received his marching orders in the 42nd minute. Kruger capitalised six minutes after the restart, with Khetukuthula Ndlovu breaking the deadlock.

Milford responded through substitute Sicelo Masilela, who levelled in the 68th minute. Another replacement, Thabana Mabena, then completed the turnaround eight minutes later with the decisive strike.
