Betway Premiership wrap: Siwelele pick up three points as Stellenbosch continue to struggle

Siwelele recorded just their second win of the new Betway Premiership season with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Marumo Gallants on Sunday.

Tebogo Potsane scored the only goal of the game with his strike with 39 minutes on the clock.

The result lifted Lehlohonolo Seema's charges into 12th place with seven points from nine games and left Gallants, who came into game on the back of a 1-1 draw with Kaizer Chiefs and a four-match unbeaten run, in 11th place with 10 points.

Elsewhere, Luc Eymael's resurgence at Chippa stalled as they played to a goalless draw against a struggling Stellenbosch side.

Neither side was able to break the deadlock at the Buffalo City Municipality Stadium to leave the Chili Boys in last place on the Betway Premiership standings with six points from nine games and Stellies in 14th place, also with six points.

All of the weekend's results:

Saturday

Golden Arrows 3-0 Orbit College
Polokwane City 1-0 Sekhukhune United
Mamelodi Sundowns 4-1 Richards Bay
Durban City 3-1 Magesi

Sunday

Siwelele 1-0 Marumo Gallants
Chippa United 0-0 Stellenbosch
