Bradley Grobler: It's frustrating to be snubbed by Bafana

The 37-year-old in-form Sekhukhune United striker has 11 national team caps but last played for South Africa in 2019.

Grobler began his career with Platinum Stars and has also turned out for Turkish Super Lig side Goztepe, Ajax Cape Town and SuperSport United.

He made the move to Sekhuhkune following the sale of SuperSport to Siwelele and has hit the ground running at his new club with eight goals in 12 games in all competitions this season.

Bafana are currently enjoying a strong World Cup qualifying campaign and are still on course to secure their place at the quadrennial competition set to take place in the United States, Canada and Mexico next year.

Grobler says it hurts to not be considered for Bafana but he willl keep working hard to fight for his place in Broos' plans.

He told FARPost: "It's tough. It's frustrating. I would like to be part of the team, especially because they are in such a great space at the moment.

"There are exciting things coming for the team, and it's always a dream to be there, especially now. But mentally, I think I can do anything within the league. I can score 100 goals, but I just don't think he [Bafana coach Hugo Broos] can change his mind about me.

"It's hard to accept it, but what more can I do? I will keep pushing and keep fighting, but mentally I do have that thing in my head where [I feel] I don't think it's going to be real. But that's not to say I won't keep fighting and trying. But it's hard, it's difficult, but it's life."
