Bundesliga: RB Leipzig drop points at St Pauli, Hoffenheim beat Werder

St Pauli 1-1 RB Leipzig

In a dramatic encounter at the Millerntor-Stadion, relegation-threatened St Pauli snatched a vital point against Champions League hopefuls RB Leipzig.

After a goalless first half where St Pauli's Ricky-Jade Jones missed a golden opportunity, Leipzig finally broke the deadlock in the 66th minute.

Yan Diomande found the net with a deflected strike from the edge of the box, appearing to set the visitors on course for a narrow victory.

However, deep into stoppage time, a literal slip by Leipzig captain David Raum changed everything. Raum lost his footing and inadvertently clattered into Martijn Kaars, prompting the referee to point to the spot.

Kaars stepped up in the 93rd minute to calmly slot the penalty past Peter Gulacsi.

The draw keeps Leipzig in fourth place on goal difference, while St Pauli gains a massive psychological boost in their survival fight.

Werder 0-2 Hoffenheim

Hoffenheim's sensational form in 2026 continued as they dismantled Werder Bremen at the Weserstadion to solidify third place.

The breakthrough came just before halftime when Alexander Prass unleashed a stunning 25-meter goal into the top corner for his first Bundesliga strike.

The momentum seemed to shift early in the second half when Hoffenheim's Wouter Burger was sent off following a VAR review for a reckless challenge.

Despite being down to ten men, the visitors responded with clinical efficiency just two minutes later. Grischa Promel doubled the lead, pouncing on a rebound from a free-kick delivery.
