Champions League: Bodo/Glimt shock Inter, Leverkusen clinch away win at Olympiakos

Bodo/Glimt 3-1 Inter Milan

Norwegian champions Bodo/Glimt moved to the brink of the Champions League last 16 after a stunning victory over Inter Milan, despite being in the midst of their domestic off-season.

Sondre Fet opened the scoring after 20 minutes on Bodo's artificial surface, finishing from a clever backheel assist by Kasper Waarts Hogh.

Inter responded through Francesco Pio Esposito, who netted after a blocked Carlos Augusto header, but the Italians were frustrated, with Matteo Darmian and Lautaro Martinez both striking the post and Nicolo Barella denied by Nikita Haikin.

Bodo overpowered their illustrious opponents after the break. Hogh set up Jens Petter Hauge for a superb left-footed drive on 61 minutes before Ole Didrik Blomberg squared for Hogh to tap in. Hauge and Hogh scored within three second-half minutes to seal an impressive win.

Olympiakos 0-2 Bayer Leverkusen

Bayer Leverkusen striker Patrik Schick struck twice in three minutes to seal a first-leg win over Olympiacos in their UEFA Champions League knockout phase play-off at the Georgios Karaiskakis Stadium.

After a wasteful first half in which Schick, Ernest Poku and Ibrahim Maza spurned clear chances, the visitors found their breakthrough on the hour. Schick finished calmly before heading in Alex Grimaldo's corner at the near post just 144 seconds later, beating Konstantinos Tzolakis.

Olympiacos had a goal ruled out in first-half stoppage time when Ayoub El Kaabi's header from Rodinei's free-kick was chalked off following a VAR review, with replays showing a touch off offside Mehdi Taremi.

The result marked Leverkusen's first away knockout win in the competition at the 10th attempt.
