Chelsea land rising star Mamadou Sarr in long-term deal from Strasbourg

The 19-year-old French prospect has penned a mammoth eight-year contract with the Blues, tying him to Stamford Bridge until 2033 - an audacious vote of confidence in his potential.

Sarr, a product of the Lens academy, made a name for himself at Strasbourg last season with 29 appearances across all competitions. His performances helped the French side secure a spot in next year's UEFA Conference League, catching the eye of Chelsea's recruitment team in the process.

Internationally, Sarr has become a familiar face in France's youth setup, having represented Les Bleus from U17 through to the U20 level. Chelsea's official statement welcomed the youngster warmly: "His talent has been recognised by his country. Welcome to Chelsea, Mamadou!"

This move adds to Chelsea's summer shake-up, with striker Liam Delap also arriving in west London. Meanwhile, Jadon Sancho is heading back to Manchester United as his loan spell ends - leaving space for new talent to shine.

With Sarr's signing, Chelsea continue to build for the future with a clear eye on nurturing emerging stars who can thrive under the spotlight at the Bridge.
