Daniel Farke faces fresh injury blow as Noah Okafor doubt adds to Leeds woes

Speaking at Thorp Arch on Thursday, Farke admitted that his squad is stretched, revealing that the Swiss forward is struggling with an adductor problem picked up in training. "Okafor is struggling a little bit with adductor problems," Farke said. "We will have to see how he feels closer to the game."

The 24-year-old has been one of Leeds' bright sparks this season, scoring twice in his first five Premier League appearances since joining in the summer. His absence would be a major blow to Farke's attacking options at Turf Moor.

Leeds are also without Wilfried Gnonto, who has suffered a setback in his recovery from a calf injury after undergoing minor hernia surgery. "Gnonto will not be available," Farke explained. "His calf problems are sorted but he needed minor hernia surgery. He will be back in training next week but not available for this away trip."

Goalkeeper Lucas Perri has returned to training after missing four matches with a quad issue, but Farke confirmed that Karl Darlow will continue in goal. "Good news with Lucas Perri, he was able to train over the last two weeks," Farke said. "But he is not ready to start matches yet."

There was some encouragement for Leeds, with Daniel James making faster-than-expected progress in his recovery. "Very positive for Daniel James, he is ahead of schedule," Farke added. "He trained with the team this week but is not in contention for the starting line-up."

Leeds, who lost 2-1 to Tottenham Hotspur before the international break, sit 15th in the table, four points above the relegation zone. A defeat to Burnley could see that gap cut to just one point, increasing the pressure.
