Durban City ready for stern Orlando Pirates challenge amid title stakes

Fresh off their Nedbank Cup triumph, the KwaZulu-Natal outfit travel to a sold-out Orlando Stadium, where kickoff is set for 15:00 on Saturday.

While Durban City arrive with confidence, the occasion presents a daunting test against a Pirates side on the brink of league glory.

The Buccaneers, under the guidance of Abdeslam Ouaddou, need just one victory from their remaining two fixtures to mathematically seal the Premiership title.

With the stakes so high, the atmosphere is expected to be electric as the Soweto giants look to crown their season in front of their home supporters.

Nodada, however, remains grounded about the task at hand. The experienced midfielder admitted that the occasion may not be one his side will relish, especially given the scale of support backing Pirates.

"We're not going to enjoy that game, we're not. I saw that the stadium is already sold out during the week, so you can imagine what it will be like," said Nodada as quoted by Kickoff.

He also reflected on the unusual position Durban City find themselves in—coming off a cup final and now potentially influencing the destination of the league title.

"To even be in this position, you ask yourself, why us? You come from a Nedbank Cup final and suddenly you have a chance to decide something that feels out of your reach,” he added.

Despite the odds, Nodada insists his side will compete with full commitment.
"It's still a football match. It's 90 minutes. We'll go there and give our best. If our best is better than theirs, then so be it," he concluded.
