Uzun clutched his left thigh and was substituted in the 26th minute by Mario Gotze. The club confirmed that the Turkish international will be sidelined through the November international break, missing upcoming clashes with Napoli in the Champions League and Mainz in the Bundesliga.
The injury halts what had been a breakout season for the youngster.
After joining from 1. FC Nurnberg in July 2024, Uzun exploded into form with six goals and four assists in 14 appearances across all competitions, including a Champions League goal against Galatasaray. In the Bundesliga alone, he has recorded five goals and three assists, quickly becoming indispensable for coach Dino Toppmöller.
His performances have earned admiration from across the league - notably Bayern Munich boss Vincent Kompany, who called Uzun part of a "new generation of top players" in the Bundesliga. Kompany praised his finishing ability and intelligence, comparing him favorably to recent Bundesliga exports Florian Wirtz and Nick Woltemade, now at Liverpool and Newcastle respectively.
Frankfurt's draw leaves them sixth in the table, ending early title hopes but keeping them in the European mix. Uzun's absence is a blow, but given his meteoric rise and maturity, the club expects him to return stronger as one of the league's brightest young stars.
