Xabi Alonso weighs Arda Guler options as Real Madrid plan young star's future
Xabi Alonso is facing a tactical dilemma at Real Madrid as the club debates how best to shape the future of Turkish prodigy Arda Guler.

The 24-year-old centre-back was forced off late in the match after suffering a heavy blow to the face. Barcelona confirmed the extent of the injury in an official medical report on Thursday, stating: "First-team player Eric Garcia has suffered a nasal fracture. He will be fitted with a protective mask and his recovery will determine his availability for the upcoming match against Celta."
Garcia's setback has placed his participation in Sunday's La Liga clash away at Celta Vigo in doubt, although the club has yet to rule him out completely.
He has been an ever-present figure in Hansi Flick's defence, starting Barcelona's last five matches across all competitions and emerging as one of their most reliable performers this season.
If Flick opts not to risk him, 17-year-old Pau Cubarsi could be recalled to the starting line-up after being benched for the past two games. Garcia's potential absence would be a major concern for Barcelona, who are already without goalkeeper Joan Garcia (meniscus tear), Gavi (ACL tear) and Raphinha (thigh muscle injury) through injury.
Celta, led by the experienced Iago Aspas and supported by attacking threats such as Bryan Zaragoza, Ferran Jutgla and Borja Iglesias, are expected to pose a serious test for Barcelona's back line.
The Catalans are currently enduring a difficult spell, and Flick will be desperate to avoid further disruption as he looks to steady the team's form in both La Liga and Europe. A final decision on Garcia's involvement will be made within the next 48 hours, with the player expected to train in a protective mask if cleared to play.
