Eric Tinkler leaves Asante Kotoko in anticipation of taking over at Durban City
The Durban-based club parted ways with Ben Youssef after seven matches, during which he recorded one win, four draws and two defeats. He did, however, guide Durban City into the second round of the CAF Confederations Cup.
Tinkler is expected to begin work in Durban this week, giving the South African tactician two weeks to prepare his new squad before the Betway Premiership resumes.
The 55-year-old arrives after a brief spell at Ghanaian side Asante Kotoko, where he spent three months in charge. Kotoko confirmed his departure in a statement after agreeing to release him from the remainder of his contract.
His final match came on Sunday afternoon, when Kotoko suffered a 2-0 defeat against Aduana Stars. It was their first defeat of the season after four matches.
Despite the short stint, Tinkler had already secured silverware during his time with the Ghanaian giants.
