Abdeslam Ouaddou disappointed for players as Orlando Pirates make early Nedbank Cup exit
Orlando Pirates coach Abdeslam Ouaddou couldn't hold back his disappointment after watching his side eliminated from the Nedbank Cup by Casric Stars.

Ekstein's second-half strike proved decisive in the Last 16 clash played at the uMhlathuze Sports Complex, as Usuthu became the first team to secure a spot in the last-eight draw.
AmaZulu were good value for their win, enjoying the better of the chances and controlling large spells of the contest. The result also sees Usuthu reach the Nedbank Cup quarter-finals for only the second time since 2012, as they continue their pursuit of a deep cup run reminiscent of their 2010 campaign, when they finished runners-up to Bidvest Wits.
The visitors were arguably unlucky not to be awarded a penalty in the first half when a trailing leg from Sbani Mntungwa appeared to catch Nkosikhona Radebe inside the area.
Despite appeals, referee Thando Ndzandzeka waved play on in what was otherwise a cagey opening period with few clear-cut chances.
AmaZulu found the breakthrough 10 minutes into the second half. Keagan Allen delivered a low cross from the right, and Ekstein reacted quickest, lifting a composed chip over the advancing goalkeeper to score from close range.
It was a moment of quality from the experienced midfielder, who now has five Nedbank Cup goals to his name - his first in the competition since scoring against Orlando Pirates in April 2024.
Richards Bay goalkeeper Ian Otieno produced an excellent save to prevent AmaZulu from doubling their lead, while at the other end Darren Johnson was alert to keep out Simphiwe Mcineka's header.
Usuthu could have wrapped up the contest late on, but Thandolwenkosi Ngwenya squandered a golden opportunity when he miscued his effort with the goal at his mercy.
Nonetheless, AmaZulu held firm to seal back-to-back away wins in this year's competition, having already eliminated Polokwane City in the Last 32.
