Fagrie Lakay focused on Egypt amid Kaizer Chiefs links

The Cape Town-born striker, currently on loan at Ceramica Cleopatra from Pyramids FC, has been linked with a move back to South Africa, with reports suggesting that Kaizer Chiefs are interested in securing his services.

However, Lakay insists that a return to the PSL is not on his radar.

"I would like to stay on this side of the world for as long as possible and maybe move back home later in my career," he told iDiski Times.

Lakay, a former South African junior international and Bafana Bafana regular, has struggled to break into the national team in recent years.

The 27-year-old remains determined to represent South Africa again and says he was immensely proud of the team's performance at the recent CAF Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

"I was very, very proud of what they achieved at AFCON. It was amazing to watch," he said.

"Playing for the national team is always an honour, and that's definitely my goal, to get back into the squad. I just need to keep working hard and scoring, and the rest will follow."
