Harry Kane calls for 'composure' as Bayern Munich stumble in London to Arsenal

The England captain, who has been central to Bayern's unbeaten start, opened the door to a measured response and insisted the loss should not derail their season.

Arsenal, who are the only side with a perfect record in this season's Champions League, made it five wins from five with a high-energy performance at the Emirates. Jurrien Timber, Noni Madueke and Gabriel Martinelli struck for Mikel Arteta's team, while 18-year-old Lennart Karl pulled one back for Bayern with his first European goal.

Bayern had arrived in London unbeaten in all competitions, a run that included an impressive away victory against Paris Saint-Germain earlier this month. But Kane said the squad would not lose confidence despite seeing that streak end.

"It's our first loss of the season and we don't want to panic too much about it," Kane told TNT Sports. "We will learn from it for sure. They won the first and second balls.

"Set pieces, we knew they would be dangerous, but I'm sure we will see them again in the later stages of the Champions League."

Kane highlighted the physical challenge Arsenal posed and admitted Bayern struggled to match their intensity after the break.

"It was a tough game, which is what we expected," he said. "The first half was a good battle and fairly even. In the second half we didn't quite have the same energy or intensity, and we lost too many duels."

Arsenal's pressing and man-to-man defending across the pitch disrupted Bayern's rhythm, but Kane stressed that the demanding fixture list made the result understandable.

"We have played Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal away. We have won the majority of our games. I don't think it's time to panic," he added.

Arteta praised his squad for their level of control and stated they had beaten "the best team in Europe," a sentiment Bayern coach Vincent Kompany dismissed.

"We had this discussion three weeks ago when we played PSG," Kompany has said. "People were mentioning the same thing. I don't think any of us want to be the best team in November. We are trying to build our season towards being there in the important moments."

Bayern remain well-placed to progress, while Arsenal's perfect start leaves them firmly in control of their group heading into December.
