'It depends on Ferran' - Hansi Flick admits Barcelona need another forward

Speaking after an in-house training match during Barcelona's pre-season camp at St. George's Park in England, Flick admitted the Spanish champions are working on bringing in another forward.

"I have total confidence in Deco," Flick said. "We know that we have to do something."

The Barcelona coach also made it clear that the club's transfer plans could depend on what happens with Torres.

"It also depends on Ferran," he added.

Torres has entered the final year of his Barcelona contract and has been linked with a move to UEFA Champions League holders Paris Saint-Germain, who are coached by former Spain manager Luis Enrique.

Barcelona recently saw an offer rejected for Atletico Madrid and Argentina striker Julian Alvarez as they continue their search for another attacker.

Despite wanting to add another forward, Flick believes his squad already has players capable of filling several attacking roles.

Summer signings Anthony Gordon and Karim Adeyemi can both play on either wing or through the middle as a central striker.

"Gordon and Adeyemi can play on both sides and as a number nine, so we have a lot of options actually," Flick said.

The German coach also pointed to teenage star Lamine Yamal as another player who is capable of playing in a central attacking role if needed.
