Jack Grealish left out of Man City's Club World Cup squad

The midfielder, signed from Aston Villa in 2021 for £100 million, was left out of the group traveling to the United States for the tournament.

New signings Rayan Ait-Nouri, Rayan Cherki, and Tijjani Reijnders have all been included in Pep Guardiola's squad, as City prepare for their opening match against Moroccan champions Wydad AC in Philadelphia on June 18.

Sources have told ESPN that Grealish has attracted interest from several Premier League clubs, including Everton, as well as teams abroad. However, talks remain at an early stage and no formal negotiations have progressed.

Guardiola hinted at the end of the Premier League season that Grealish may need to consider a move in search of more regular playing time. The 28-year-old made just 10 league starts last season, falling down the pecking order in City's attacking midfield options.

Also missing from the squad is England right-back Kyle Walker. The veteran defender joined AC Milan on loan in January and remains under contract with City until 2026. Midfielder James McAtee is another absentee, as he is currently captaining England at the UEFA Under-21 European Championship.

City's squad includes a mix of established stars and young talent, with Erling Haaland, Phil Foden, Rodri, and Bernardo Silva among the key names. Teenagers Claudio Echeverri, Nico O'Reilly, and Vitor Reis also make the trip.

Man City's Club World Cup squad:

Goalkeepers: Marcus Bettinelli, Stefan Ortega, Ederson

Defenders: Ruben Dias, John Stones, Nathan Ake, Rayan Ait-Nouri, Vitor Reis, Josko Gvardiol, Manuel Akanji, Abdukodir Khusanov, Rico Lewis

Midfielders: Nico Gonzalez, Rodri, Tijjani Reijnders, Ilkay Gundogan, Bernardo Silva, Matheus Nunes, Rayan Cherki, Claudio Echeverri, Phil Foden, Oscar Bobb, Nico O'Reilly

Forwards: Omar Marmoush, Erling Haaland, Savinho, Jeremy Doku
