Kai Havertz reveals his 'best' Arsenal goals

The German striker made a strong start to the season, scoring against Manchester City in the Community Shield before finding the net against Coventry City and Chelsea.

Those goals put Havertz level with captain Martin Odegaard as Arsenal's leading scorer at that stage of the campaign.

Havertz also finished the previous season strongly, scoring the decisive goal against Burnley before putting Arsenal ahead in the Champions League final against Paris Saint-Germain.

Although Arsenal ultimately lost the final, Havertz still regards his early goal in that match as the favourite of his Arsenal career.

"The Champions League final, even though we lost the game, I feel like I never had a feeling like this before in my life," Havertz said.

"I think that was the best I've ever felt in my life on a football pitch, so I think that was my favourite one."

His second favourite came against Burnley, when his goal helped Arsenal secure the Premier League title.

"My second favourite is definitely the one against Burnley, when we won the Premier League, the last goal of the season before we won it," he added.

"These two definitely are always going to be in my heart."

Havertz was also asked about his unusual preference for long-sleeved shirts. The forward has continued wearing them even in extremely hot conditions, including during Germany duty in temperatures above 40 degrees Celsius.

"It's a superstition," Havertz explained.

"I think it's the thing I just feel most comfortable with on the pitch. I don't know why, but I can't look down and see my body and see my arm without a shirt."

The Arsenal forward admitted teammates and supporters have found his preference amusing, particularly when he wore long sleeves in Singapore despite temperatures reaching 45 degrees Celsius.

"But that's how I like it, and my head just always tells me to wear long sleeves, so I can't wear short sleeves anymore," he said.

Havertz also spoke warmly about his relationship with Ben White, who he has known since joining Arsenal in 2023.

The pair have become close friends away from football, with their wives also developing a strong friendship.

"From the first minute I arrived, we were close friends. Our wives are close friends, so I spend a lot of time with him," Havertz said.

He also praised White's ability on the pitch, describing him as one of the best full-backs he has played alongside.

"Football-wise I feel like he's shown so many times how good he is, how much the team needs him, how good he is defensively, offensively, and I think we all see it every week, the way he plays, the way he performs at the highest level."

Havertz has developed another close friendship with Viktor Gyokeres since the Swedish striker joined Arsenal from Sporting CP.

The pair have also developed a dangerous partnership on the pitch.

"He's just a top guy, funny guy," Havertz said. "He's got top banter.

"I think I'm quite funny as well, and it just clicked from the first minute. We're just having fun together on the pitch and off the pitch.

"I think he's a top guy and that's why it's easy to spend good time with him."

Arsenal's next Premier League fixture is against Leeds United at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday, October 10.
