Kaizer Chiefs announce head coach Nasreddine Nabi to miss PSL opener

Nabi will return to his home country of Tunisia after a "critical accident involving his wife", according to a statement released by Amakhosi.

The statement read: "A critical accident involving his wife has occurred at his home in Tunisia, prompting the coach to travel this evening to be with her and the family.

"Coach Nabi will return to South Africa once the situation has stabilised. The coach has had discussions with the technical team to prepare for the game.

"In Coach Nabi's absence, first assistant coach Khalil Ben Youssef and second assistant coach Cedric Kaze will be on bench for the upcoming game."

The game at the Athlone Stadium has already been sold-out with Amakhosi looking to improve in the league campaign having finished ninth last season.
