Chiefs returned to winning ways with a 2-0 victory over Magesi FC at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday, marking back-to-back Premiership wins.
Wandile Duba and Mfundo Vilakazi both scored their first goals of the season, but it was Maboe's dominant display that earned him the Man-of-the-Match award.
"At this time of the season we want to collect the points," Maboe told SuperSport TV after the match.
"We had a couple of bad results, so now it is about time to pick up points. You never get tired of winning. We need to keep wanting more and asking more of ourselves. We are a good team with a lot of talent, and we need to keep demanding more, to push ourselves to the limit."
Chiefs had been struggling with three consecutive losses prior to their win over Durban City the previous weekend, but the six points from their recent matches have strengthened their bid to finish third in the table and secure qualification for next season's CAF Confederation Cup.
For Magesi, the situation remains bleak. The side remains at the foot of the Premiership table and struggled to create clear chances in Durban, producing only a brief flurry of attacks before halftime.
Under new head coach Allan Freese, Magesi have taken just three points from five matches, leaving them five points adrift of safety. Orbit College FC and Marumo Gallants, both on 18 points, occupy 15th and 14th positions respectively, highlighting the uphill battle facing Freese and his squad.
Chiefs, meanwhile, will be looking to build on their momentum as they chase a strong finish to the season and a return to continental football with a third-place finish being their main target.
