The PSG head coach dismissed talk of dressing-room unrest following a difficult spell that has seen the French champions lose momentum both domestically and in Europe.
"There is always noise around PSG and we just have to accept it," Luis Enrique said at his pre-match press conference. "It is true that we would have liked to come into this game with a victory, but now it is time for the Champions League and we are all motivated."
PSG, reigning European champions after winning the competition for the first time last season, have struggled to rediscover the form that carried them to continental glory. A 3-1 league defeat away to Rennes at the weekend saw them surrender top spot in Ligue 1, with Lens moving above them.
Their European campaign has also been far from smooth. PSG finished 11th in the league phase and failed to win any of their last three matches, forcing them into this play-off tie for a place in the last 16.
After the loss in Rennes, Ballon d'Or winner Ousmane Dembele publicly challenged his team-mates.
"We need to play for Paris Saint-Germain if we are going to win matches," Dembele said. "If we all just play for ourselves it won't work and we won't win the trophies we want. Last season we put the club first before thinking about ourselves."
Luis Enrique, however, described the defeat in Rennes as "cruel" and made it clear his focus was firmly on Europe.
PSG remain strong favourites against a Monaco side sitting eighth in Ligue 1, 20 points behind them. Yet Monaco beat PSG 1-0 at the Stade Louis II in November and arrive with renewed confidence.
"We need to believe we can get a result, otherwise there is no point playing the game," said Monaco coach Sebastien Pocognoli.
Captain Denis Zakaria added: "If we are not at 100 percent and don't play the perfect game, it will be difficult for us."
For Luis Enrique and PSG, the message was simple: ignore the noise, rediscover the unity that delivered European glory, and respond when it matters most.
