Mamelodi Sundowns analyst Mario Masha suspended pending internal investigation

Mamelodi Sundowns analyst Mario Masha suspended pending internal investigation

The performance analyst has been with the Brazilians for over a decade, working under multiple coaching regimes and contributing to the club’s ongoing success.

He is said to have leaked information to Mokwena's coaching team as well as access to coaching platforms used by Sundowns.

The Betway Premiership side are currently in third place in Group C with six points, one behind MC Alger and two adrift of leaders Al-Hilal, with Saint Eloi Lupopo in fourth place with five points.

Sundowns have not yet made an official statement on the incident, but ambassador and spokes person Tiyani Mabunda confirmed a long-term suspension.

He told Sports Night Amplified that Masha was suspended, saying: "Definitely.

"We're doing the internal checks and internal investigations so we're able to make the right call. Mamelodi Sundowns is not an impulsive club, we’re trying to make sure to get everything right before we take a decision.

"We're looking forward to resolving this matter as soon as possible, because we've got so many critical responsibilities lying on our table now.

"So internal investigations are ongoing and hopefully soon the club will make a statement.

“Hopefully this will be resolved as soon as possible.”
