Manchester City rejects Barcelona's first bid for Rodri

The Spain international is likely to leave the Premier League this summer transfer window, with only one year remaining on his current City contract before he becomes available as a free agent.

According to SkySports sources, the World Cup 2026 winner would prefer a deal to join Barca instead of LaLiga rivals Madrid, with the Cityzens looking for around £60million for the Spaniard.

The 30-year-old has made 298 appearances for City under former manager Pep Guardiola, scoring 28 goals and providing 32 assists while helping the club win 13 trophies including their maiden UEFA Champions League title.

Barcelona are expected to return with an improved second offer while rivals Los Blancos could counter with their own offer in the race to sign the Golden Ball winner of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
