Manchester United's Michael Carrick ready for tough atmosphere at Everton

The Red Devils head into this match following a 13-day break since the 1-1 draw against West Ham United at the London Stadium earlier this month.

A victory or draw for Carrick's side will see them move back above Chelsea into fourth spot on the league table while the Toffees could move above Bournemouth into eighth spot with a win.

"We've got to be ready for the game for what that's going to bring," said Carrick to MUTV.

"All in all, a Monday-night game, Everton away, it will be a good night. I'm looking forward to it, I've never been [Hill Dickinson Stadium] so it's my first time as well."

According to reports, Everton fans are planning their biggest flag display of the season so far, with over 400 set to be on show inside the ground ahead of kick-off.

"As much as the new stadium is a thing, the game is the game and we’re looking forward to that," added 44-year-old coach.

"We're going there in good form, in a good mood and good spirit and trying to keep this run going as much as we can."

United are unbeaten in their last nine Premier League matches, with Carrick taking over the reins from Ruben Amorim for the five most recent fixtures, winning four in a row, drawing once.
