Leon joined Sundowns during the January transfer window from Independiente Medellín in a 3.2 million USD (approximately R58 million) deal.
Since then, the Colombian forward has become a key attacking outlet, scoring six goals in seven appearances across all competitions.
The striker has already delivered two braces in rapid succession - first in a CAF Champions League win over MC Alger, and then in a Betway Premiership match against Orlando Pirates. His sharp finishing, intelligent runs, and composure in front of goal have added a new dynamic to Sundowns' frontline.
Cardoso attributes Leon's smooth transition to the welcoming nature of the squad, which has also helped fellow newcomers Nuno Santos and Miguel Reisinho settle quickly.
"The adaptation of Brayan Leon, Nuno Santos and Miguel Reisinho has been very good because of the group we have, the club we have and the work we do together," Cardoso told the media after the match.
He also highlighted the team's attacking depth, referencing Peter Shalulile, Iqraam Rayners, Lebo Mothiba, and young prospect Bennett Mokoena.
Beyond goals, Cardoso praised Leon's growing chemistry with teammates. Post-match celebrations and on-field interactions, he said, show that Leon has embraced Sundowns' culture and is fully integrated into the team's identity.
