The Senegal forward is currently playing for Bayern on a season-long loan from Chelsea. The deal includes an obligation to buy, but recent reports have indicated that the conditions required to trigger a permanent move are now unlikely to be met.

Bayern agreed to pay a loan fee of fourteen point two five million pounds, equivalent to sixteen point four million euros, with a further fifty six point two five million pounds, around sixty five million euros, due if the obligation is activated. That would have taken the total value of the deal to roughly seventy point five million pounds, or eighty one point five million euros.

However, the obligation to buy is linked to Jackson making a set number of appearances, and it is thought he can no longer reach that target this season. As a result, a permanent transfer to the Allianz Arena has been thrown into doubt.

Jackson's agent, Ali Barat, has played down speculation about the striker's future beyond the current campaign.

"I think the season is still very young," Barat told Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano. "It's very early to answer that question, to be honest."

He added that there would be no rush to make decisions.

"Nico and I will sit down at the end of the season, review all the options, and then we'll make a decision together," Barat has said.

Jackson has continued to focus on his performances for Bayern while also representing Senegal at the Africa Cup of Nations. He has scored five goals in eighteen appearances so far this season.

For now, Bayern and Chelsea are expected to reassess the situation once the campaign has concluded, with Jackson's future still firmly open.
