With confidence rising, the Mswenko boys are now preparing for a challenging trip to face Mamelodi Sundowns at Royal Bafokeng Stadium on Tuesday.
Orbit drew with Richards Bay at home before defeating TS Galaxy 2-1 at Mbombela Stadium, securing their fifth win of the season.
Despite lingering in the relegation zone, Makhoye believes the recent results have given the squad a much-needed boost heading into crucial fixtures.
"Beating TS Galaxy was an important win because we are playing the defending champions on Tuesday (14 March, 2026)," Makhoye told SuperSport TV after the game.
The coach emphasised the importance of every point in the relegation battle.
"At least game number 20, let's get three points on the board because it doesn't make sense when teams that we are fighting relegation with are dropping points and we also do the same," he said.
"I think these four points from this week will help us at least to relieve pressure. But the process is still there; we are learning."
Makhoye also praised the impact of the experienced players brought in during the January transfer window.
"The experience we have brought here, like Ben Motshwari, Lesedi Kapinga, and Bradley Ralani, is something we lacked, especially in the first round," he said.
"But we remain humble; we need to fight and it's going to be a long way. Our target is to ensure that in at least five games we get four points. The priority is to make sure we stay in this league."
After 20 matches, Orbit College has five wins, three draws, and 12 defeats. With confidence on the rise and key players settling in, Makhoye will look to guide his team to a positive result against the defending champions in their next league fixture.
