The final is set to take place at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane on Saturday, 6 December 2025, with the kick-off time yet to be announced.
Pirates have been in impressive form in cup competitions this campaign, having already lifted the MTN8 trophy earlier in the season. Their narrow 1-0 semi-final win over Richards Bay FC at Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday booked them a second consecutive domestic final — a testament to coach Abdeslam Ouaddou’s growing influence in his debut season in charge.
Their opponents, Marumo Gallants, have been the surprise package of the tournament, showing incredible resilience to reach the final. Gallants edged Golden Arrows 4-2 on penalties after a gruelling 2-2 draw over 120 minutes in Durban.
Interestingly, the same Arrows side had hammered Gallants 4-0 in a recent Betway Premiership encounter — a reminder of the unpredictable nature of knockout football.
The PSL confirmed that Pirates will be the official home side, following a home-and-away draw conducted after Sunday’s semi-final.
Last season’s final, held at the Free State Stadium, saw Magesi FC stun Mamelodi Sundowns 2-1 to lift the trophy.
This year’s champions will walk away with R6.85 million, while the runners-up will pocket R2.85 million — but for Pirates, the bigger prize could be adding another piece of silverware.
