PSL wrap: Magesi fire up with double strike against Cape Town City

Magesi 2-0 Cape Town City

Magesi FC secured a shock 2-0 victory over Cape Town City FC in an electrifying Betway Premiership clash at Seshego Stadium.

This win is only Magesi's second of the season in the Betway Premiership and lifts them off the bottom of the table - though they remain firmly in the relegation zone in 15th place.

Magesi dominated with a flurry of shots, converting key moments into goals despite their opponents dominating the possession stats.

The scoring began in the 34th minute with Mcedi Vandala netting a penalty after Thabang Sibanyoni was fouled in the box, and the home side extended their lead in the 73rd minute when Lehlohonolo Mtshali unleashed a precise shot from outside the box before holding on to complete an encouraging victory.

Richards Bay 2-0 Polokwane City

Richards Bay FC moved further from the relegation zone with a 2-0 win over high-flying Polokwane City, who missed out on an opportunity to move within one point of second-placed Orlando Pirates.

Tlakusani Mthethwa opened the scoring early in the second half with a powerful header from a corner, while City struggled to break through despite introducing veteran Puleng Tlolane as Richards Bay's defense held firm.

In the final 20 minutes, Ntlonelo Bomelo sealed the victory with a volley after an assist from Keegan Allan.

New signing Mduduzi Mdantsane made his debut late in the match, while City's Monty Batlhabane came close to scoring but failed to find the target.

With the win, Richards Bay climbed to 12th on the table, while Polokwane City remained in third place.

TS Galaxy 0-0 Chippa United

In the final match of the day, TS Galaxy edged Chippa United 1-0 with a late winner to move up to seventh in the Betway Premiership standings.

Chippa started strong, with Thabang Malaoa and Bienvenu Eva Nga both going close early on, while Galaxy grew into the game as Keagan Dolly forced a save before half-time.

Chippa continued to threaten in the second half but struggled with their finishing. Galaxy responded by bringing on fresh legs, and the pressure paid off in the final ten minutes when Damir Sovsic struck from outside the box after a corner, beating Stanley Nwabali to give Galaxy the lead.

Chippa pushed hard for a late equalizer, but Galaxy's defense held firm to secure the victory, moving them up to seventh in the standings while Chippa remained in mid-table.
