Real Madrid quash rumours linking them with Bayern Munich star Michael Olise

Olise was in superb form for Bayern Munich last season, scoring 22 goals and providing 31 assists to help the Bavarians to the 2025-26 Bundesliga title and a place in the Champions League final.

He has continued that for France in the 2026 FIFA World Cup as well, providing the assist for Kylian Mbappe's goal in the 3-1 win over Senegal.

With Jose Mourinho coming in to lead the team, Los Blancos have been aggressive in the transfer market since the close of the season, having already signed Bernardo Silva, Marc Cucurella and Ibrahima Konate.

They also had a massive 150m euro bid for Julian Alvarez rejected by city rivals Atletico Madrid, which led some sources to believe they would shift their attention to signing Olise.

However, Real Madrid have vehemently denied they have had any contact with the player or have any intentions on trying to sign him, while reaffirming its strong relationship with Bayern Munich.

"In light of the information published in various media outlets regarding an alleged interest of our club in Bayern Munich player Michael Olise, Real Madrid C. F. wishes to clarify that it has not had any direct or indirect contact with the aforementioned footballer, his representatives, or individuals in his circle," read a statement released by Real Madrid.

"Real Madrid also wishes to highlight the excellent institutional relationship it maintains with Bayern Munich, with whom it shares a long history of mutual respect, collaboration, and admiration, and regrets the dissemination of speculations that do not correspond to reality.

"Both clubs have always maintained a relationship based on trust and mutual respect, which is reflected, among other aspects, in the shared conviction that any potential interest in a player belonging to the other club must be addressed first between the entities themselves, in accordance with the principles of institutional loyalty that have historically governed the relations between Bayern Munich and Real Madrid," the statement concluded.
