Report: Barcelona's Robert Lewandowski to hold talks with Hansi Flick in early 2026

According to SPORT, the Catalan giants are carefully assessing the next steps involving one of their most experienced senior players, with manager Hansi Flick expected to hold a crucial conversation with the striker at the beginning of 2026.

The planned discussion will focus on whether Lewandowski should remain at Barcelona beyond the current season, with his contract due to expire at the end of the campaign.

While the issue is significant, no final decision has yet been taken by either the club or the player. Both parties prefer to wait until February or March before committing to a definitive outcome, allowing time for a clearer evaluation of circumstances.

Lewandowski's current season has been affected by physical issues, which have introduced a degree of uncertainty regarding his long-term role in the squad.

Despite those concerns, he continues to exert strong influence within the dressing room, where his leadership and experience remain highly valued.

Away from the pitch, Lewandowski is settled in Barcelona and feels at home in the city alongside his family. The prospect of extending his stay by one or two more seasons appeals to him, and he is open to accepting a different role within the squad should he remain.

The striker understands that he may no longer be the undisputed first-choice starter and has shown a willingness to adapt to the club's future direction.
