Report: Dortmund winger Julien Duranville set for Lyon move

The French club have reportedly settled on a fee of 5.5 million euros with the Bundesliga side, with any potential performance-related add-ons excluded from that figure. Duranville is expected to put pen to paper on a five-year deal once the remaining formalities are completed.

The move comes as Lyon prepare for the likely departure of Afonso Moreira, who is nearing a switch to Bayer Leverkusen in a deal worth around 32 million euros. Moreira only arrived from Sporting CP last year, when Lyon secured his services for a modest two million euros.

Initially, Lyon viewed Duranville as a possible successor to Malick Fofana amid expectations that the highly rated attacker would leave the club.

However, with Fofana remaining in place for now, the Belgian youngster now appears set to fill the void left by Moreira instead.

Capable of operating on either flank, the 20-year-old has struggled to establish himself as a regular starter at Dortmund since joining from RSC Anderlecht in January 2023. He has featured 27 times for the German outfit and spent the second half of last season on loan at FC Basel.

During his spell in Switzerland, Duranville made 16 appearances, scoring twice and contributing one assist.

Internationally, he made his senior debut for Belgium in June 2024 and has collected two caps.
