Report: Tottenham launch bid to snatch Eberechi Eze from Arsenal's grasp

The north London clubs are locked in a fierce battle to bolster their attacking options before the summer window slams shut.

Tottenham have tabled a 50 million euros bid for Savinho, though Manchester City are holding firm, valuing the 21-year-old Brazilian at 70 million euros, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano. Savinho, open to a switch, could bring flair to Spurs' wings, but the deal hinges on City softening their stance.

Meanwhile, the pursuit of Eze has taken center stage. The 27-year-old Palace talisman, who netted 14 goals and provided 11 assists last season, including a decisive strike in the FA Cup final against Manchester City, has caught the eye of both clubs.

Tottenham's urgency intensified after a serious knee injury sidelined James Maddison and a proposed move for Nottingham Forest's Morgan Gibbs-White collapsed.

Arsenal have long admired Eze, with journalist Ben Jacobs reporting that the player has shown "buy-in" for a move to the Emirates, having spoken with manager Mikel Arteta. However, the Gunners' hesitation, stemming from doubts over whether Eze would displace captain Martin Odegaard in the No. 10 role, has opened the door for Spurs.

"Arsenal have communicated to Crystal Palace they don't want to trigger Eze's release clause now. They might need an outgoing first," Jacobs said on X.

Tottenham, sensing an opportunity, have reignited talks with Palace. Eze's release clause, reportedly 68 million pounds, may have expired, but Palace are steadfast in demanding that figure.

Spurs, however, believe 55 million pounds, akin to their recent deal for West Ham's Mohammed Kudus, is a fair valuation. "Spurs are prepared to move quickly," Jacobs noted, adding that Eze "has not discounted their project" despite Arsenal's interest.

Eze himself is open to both clubs, with Romano confirming the midfielder's desire to play Champions League football, a prospect Tottenham can offer this season. "Eberechi Eze, keen on Tottenham move as Palace are informed of his desire," Romano said.

The possibility of signing both Eze and Savinho has electrified Spurs fans. Jacobs clarified that the pursuits are separate, with Eze eyed as a No. 10 and Savinho as a winger. "Spurs view Eze as a No. 10. It means their pursuit is separate to Savinho, who Man City insist they don't wish to sell," he said.

As the transfer deadline looms, Tottenham's aggressive approach could reshape their squad for a pivotal campaign. Arsenal, meanwhile, are under pressure to respond, with potential outgoings like Reiss Nelson or Leandro Trossard possibly paving the way for their own bid.

The north London transfer tussle is heating up, and Eze's next move could define the rivalry's latest chapter.
