Speaking after the loss, Amorim dismissed speculation about his future, saying:
"I am always comfortable with the job. I am not concerned. It is not my decision. I will do the best I can every minute I am here. I am never concerned about my job – I am not that kind of guy."
The defeat at Brentford came just a week after a morale-boosting win over Chelsea, which had raised hopes of a turning point. Reflecting on the loss, Amorim admitted his side had failed to impose their style of play:
"Today we played the game of Brentford, not our game. When you play the opponent's game, it's harder to win."
He added that the players were thoroughly briefed on what to expect but faltered under pressure:
"That is the pressure of the club. I'm not trying to protect the players or myself. I'm just trying to win the next game, create again the momentum. That's it."
