Pirates' Tshegofatso Mabasa seen as ideal solution to Kaizer Chiefs' goal-scoring woes
Kaizer Chiefs may be presented with a rare opportunity in the transfer market, and former PSL forward Phumlani Mkhize believes the club should not let it pass.

According to a Soccer Laduma source, Barker first came onto Simba's radar during Stellenbosch FC's maiden CAF Confederation Cup campaign, where his tactical acumen, organisation, and calm leadership in the two-legged clash against the Dar es Salaam-based club left a lasting impression on Simba's technical team.
"Simba were impressed with how Stellenbosch conducted themselves in the Confederation Cup and how Barker set his team up," a source told the publication.
"From there, his name stayed in discussions internally, and when the opportunity presented itself, they moved decisively."
Following those matches, Simba reportedly continued to monitor Barker's progress in the Betway Premiership, where he maintained Stellenbosch's competitiveness despite a modest budget and the regular loss of key players.
Barker's departure marks the end of a six-year tenure at Stellenbosch, during which he transformed the club into a respected top-flight side, introduced them to continental football, and oversaw historic milestones. Reflecting on the move, the 57-year-old admitted leaving the club he helped build was not easy.
He now embarks on a new chapter, tasked with guiding Simba SC to domestic and continental glory, while carrying the reputation of a coach capable of turning modest teams into competitive forces.
