Stuttgart determined to keep hold of Nick Woltemade amid Bayern Munich interest

Wehrle is adamant the club will hang on to him during the transfer window and will still have him available when the new season starts in August.

His comments come off the back of similar sentiments shared by head coach Sebastian Hoenes and club board member Favian Wohlgemuth.

Woltemade played 33 games for Stuttgart last season, contributing 17 goals and three assists which made him one of the most sought-after strikers when the transfer window for the new season opened.

"We're not letting him go," Wehrle said.

Bayern very rarely fail to secure their man once they have set their sights on a specific player but Wehrle remains certainly Stuttgart will be able to hang on to Woltemade.

However, whether he truly believes that or whether he is just trying to drive the price they eventually receive up remains to be seen.

"He will continue to play football for us next season. Period. If Bayern offer something truly extraordinary, then we can talk about it like professionals," Wehrle continued.

"Max Eberl and the Bayern administrative team have lodged inquiries by phone," Wehrle continued, "Ordinarily a personal meeting follows. I've categorically refused to do so thus far."
