SuperSport United and Cape Town Spurs set for Nedbank Cup Round of 16 Clash

Both teams have been struggling in their respective leagues adding extra weight to the outcome of the encounter as they go in search of positive momentum.

SuperSport United secured their place in this stage of the competition with a comfortable 2-0 victory over Magesi in the Round of 32.

Despite their cup success, the team has been struggling in the Betway Premiership, with their most recent league outing ending in a 1-1 draw against Sekhukhune United.

Looking to turn their fortunes around, they will aim to replicate their previous cup performance against Spurs.

Cape Town Spurs, currently competing in the Motsepe Foundation Championship, find themselves in a difficult position, sitting 15th in the relegation zone.

Their last league match saw them suffer a heavy 3-0 defeat against Black Leopards, further compounding their struggles.

However, they will take confidence from their 3-1 win over Venda Football Club in the previous round of the Nedbank Cup, as they attempt to spring a surprise against top-flight opposition.
