SuperSport's Ime Okon attracts interest from two 'big clubs' abroad

SuperSport's Ime Okon attracts interest from two 'big clubs' abroad

Okon, who recently returned from a trial at Ukrainian giants Dynamo Kyiv, is expected to leave SuperSport United after their game against AmaZulu FC at Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday night, provided negotiations go as planned.

Speaking to FarPost, Matthews confirmed that Okon has attracted interest from abroad.

"We've got Ime Okon, we've got two opportunities for Ime that have come in, and both are big clubs.

"So, yes, I anticipate that in the next few days, Ime will probably also be going abroad, and tomorrow night will probably be his last game for the club if everything goes according to plan," Matthews said

The 20-year-old defender has already missed four matches for Matsatsantsa due to his trial in Ukraine but made his return just in time to play in their Nedbank Cup Round of 32 clash against Magesi FC last Tuesday, which they won 2-0.

If the deal is finalized, Okon will be the latest South African talent to secure a big move abroad, further solidifying SuperSport United's reputation as a top talent-producing club.
