Barcelona hand teen defender Hafiz Gariba first-team chance
Ghanaian defender Hafiz Gariba has taken another major step in his career after being included in Barcelona's first-team squad for the start of pre-season.

According to reports from Modern Ghana, the move will see the 18-year-old become the first Ghanaian player in Sevilla's history and the first to join the Andalusian club directly from a Ghana-based team.
Abrokwa began his football career with Peace Boys FC before earning a move to Adabraka Elders, where his impressive displays quickly attracted interest from scouts across Europe.
Known for his explosive pace, close ball control, dribbling ability and eye for goal, the teenager has emerged as one of Ghana's exciting young attacking prospects.
The transfer was brokered by his representatives, Daniel Boifio Junior and Jorge Garcia of SBE Management, who worked closely with Adabraka Elders and Sevilla's sporting department to finalise both the transfer agreement and the player's personal terms.
The move comes as Sevilla continue reshaping their squad following a disappointing 2025/26 season. The seven-time UEFA Europa League champions finished 13th in La Liga, missing out on European qualification for the second time in three seasons.
In recent transfer windows, the Spanish club have increasingly focused on recruiting promising young talent with long-term potential, and Abrokwa fits that strategy.
The Ghanaian is expected to report for pre-season in the coming weeks, where he will initially link up with Sevilla's Under-19 side as he begins his adaptation to Spanish football and works towards earning a place in the senior setup.
