Teenager Alphadjo Cisse strikes as Ruben Amorim makes winning AC Milan debut

The 19-year-old attacking midfielder was lively from the start and nearly opened the scoring inside two minutes when he fired Ruben Loftus-Cheek's low cross into the side-netting.

Milan controlled the early stages but struggled to create clear chances, with Torino goalkeeper Diego Mascardi denying Samuel Chukwueze before half-time.

The hosts also kept Milan's record signing Goncalo Ramos quiet during his first appearance for the club, leaving the sides level at the break.

Amorim made his first changes 11 minutes into the second half, sending on Luka Modric and Adrien Rabiot for Loftus-Cheek and Ardon Jashari.

The changes helped Milan turn their possession into goals.

Rabiot became the provider in the 64th minute, crossing for Cisse, who took a touch before calmly guiding his finish beyond Mascardi.

Just three minutes later, Rabiot doubled Milan's lead. The midfielder met Chukwueze's cross with a close-range volley to score against Torino for the third consecutive Serie A match.

Torino refused to give up and Che Adams gave the hosts hope in stoppage time with a spectacular first-time volley into the top corner.

It was not enough, however, as Milan held on for a valuable victory.

The defeat ended Torino's run of home league matches without a loss stretching back to February 15, while Amorim became the first foreign coach since 2009 to win Milan's opening league game of the season.
