Tim Kleindienst shines again as Gladbach settle for draw

The match began without any goals in the first half, during which Mainz suffered a setback when star striker Jonathan Burkardt was forced off due to injury.

However, the home side found the breakthrough in the 55th minute. Stefan Lainer, unfortunately, turned Paul Nebel's cross into his own net, putting Mainz ahead.

Despite the setback, Gladbach responded quickly. Kleindienst levelled the score just moments later, heading in Franck Honorat's well-placed cross.

This goal marked his sixth of the season, reinforcing his status as a key player for Gladbach.

"I just focused on getting into the right position," Kleindienst said after the match.

As the game progressed, Gladbach pushed hard for a winner, with Kleindienst coming close again.

However, Mainz's goalkeeper, Robin Zentner, made several crucial saves to secure a point for the hosts.

The draw leaves Gladbach in ninth place and Mainz in 12th as they look forward to the weekend's matches.
