'We didn't frustrate them enough' - Paulus Masehe reflects on Orlando Pirates defeat

Boitumelo Radiopane opened the scoring at the Olando Amstel Arena after 36 minutes, and Oswin Appollis sealed the result when he hit the target just past the hour mark.

It was a second defeat to the Buccaneers in the space of a few days after a 1-0 MTN8 semi-final first leg loss at the weekend.

The two sides will meet again this weekend for a place in the MTN8 final.

Reflecting on the midweek defeat, the assistant coach said on SuperSport: "I think from first half tactically, we didn't adapt well enough as we were supposed to because from us being in our medium and compact block, we were able to frustrate them but however after winning the ball, we were not efficient enough in our break or counter-attack.

"Second half, it was just an unfortunate situation, from the run of play we conceded a goal when we were really, really pushing hard to try get back into the game," he explained.

Masehe gave the post-match interview after head coach Cedric Kaze was sent off ten minutes before the end of the match.

"I think it was just an unfortunate incident that happened, it was a little bit of a misunderstanding between our coach and the fourth official," added Masehe.

"I honestly don't think that whatever he said deserved the punishment. But however, there's nothing that we can say."
