Why these Betway Premiership wingers have former Kaizer Chiefs star talking

He sees those qualities clearly in Orlando Pirates youngster Relebohile Mofokeng and TS Galaxy's Puso Dithejane.

Having made his own name as a direct, speed-driven winger, Molangoane feels the current Betway Premiership demands a more rounded wide player — something both 21-year-olds have demonstrated this season.

Mofokeng, who endured an injury setback earlier in the campaign, has rediscovered his rhythm since returning to action in early November. The Pirates attacker has delivered two assists and a goal in five appearances, using sharp movement and awareness to influence matches despite his slight build.

According to Molangoane, Mofokeng's understanding of space sets him apart.

"Rele knows he does not have physical strength, so he uses his brain. He avoids unnecessary battles and always finds a way to receive the ball in good positions," Molangoane told FARPost.

"That comes naturally to players who understand the game. I was even shorter than him, so I relate. You must know when to drift away. He reminds me of the old-school wingers who hugged the line and took responsibility."

Mofokeng's performances have been rewarded with a place in Bafana Bafana's squad for the Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, where he will be hoping to further elevate his growing reputation.

Molangoane is equally impressed by Dithejane, whose versatility has been central to TS Galaxy's strong campaign. Operating across the frontline, the Rockets attacker has produced four goals and six assists in 15 matches.

"Dithejane is special. You don't know if he's a winger, a number 10 or a striker. He has balance, he can score and create. That's what separates a star," he added.

Dithejane's form earned him a call-up to Bafana Bafana's preliminary AFCON squad, although he narrowly missed out on final selection.
