AmaKhosi have endured an inconsistent campaign and currently find themselves outside the top positions, but the defender insists the team has not given up on its ambitions for the season.
Chiefs are currently sixth on the league table with 30 points from 18 matches, leaving them with a difficult task if they are to close the gap on the sides ahead of them.
League leaders Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns both sit on 47 points, meaning Chiefs trail the leading duo by 17 points with 12 matches still to be played.
Despite the gap on the table, Kwinika remains confident the squad can still push toward their target if they collect maximum points in the remaining fixtures.
"I think it is a realistic target for us because we still have to play 12 games, and getting maximum points in the matches ahead can help us get back to where we want to be," Kwinika told the media this week.
"That is the target we set for ourselves this season. It's realistic and, to be honest, it's the minimum expectation for us."
The defender added that the team's main focus is to take the remaining matches one game at a time rather than focusing too heavily on a specific points tally.
"It's not really about numbers because there are other teams performing well," he added.
"Our focus is to improve our performances, win games and put ourselves in the best possible position to achieve the target we set as a group."
AmaKhosi will be looking to start getting positive results when they take on Durban City at FNB Stadium on Sunday.
