Victor Perez becomes first LIV Golf signing for 2026 after PGA Tour exit
Three-time DP World Tour winner Victor Perez has become the LIV Golf League's first new signing ahead of the 2026 season, following his decision to leave the PGA Tour.

The DP World Tour has confirmed the application and said Stenson has also paid all outstanding fines issued for competing in LIV Golf events without conflicting-event releases.
Stenson dropped out of LIV Golf after being overtaken by Majesticks teammate Ian Poulter late in the final event of the year, LIV Golf Indianapolis, leaving him in the Drop Zone by just 0.38 points. He finished 49th in the Individual Championship, bringing an end to his three-year stint on the breakaway circuit, which included a single win at Bedminster in 2022.
His 2022 move to LIV Golf was especially contentious because he had been appointed Europe's Ryder Cup captain for the 2023 event. He was stripped of the role soon after joining the league, with Luke Donald taking over.
He resigned from the DP World Tour in May 2023, shortly after several fellow LIV players also stepped away following a Sports Resolutions ruling that upheld the Tour's right to sanction and fine members for unapproved participation in LIV events.
Since then, Stenson has competed only sporadically in world-ranking events, mainly on the Asian Tour and at The Open, where he retains an exemption due to his 2016 victory. As a result, he has slipped to 1165th in the Official World Golf Ranking.
Stenson will be eligible to return to the DP World Tour in 2026, once he serves a suspension. His comeback would mark his 395th appearance on the circuit, where he previously won 11 titles between 2001 and 2016.
Stenson could still try to regain a LIV Golf place via the league's Promotions event in Florida in January, but it's not clear if he also plans to pursue that route.
